Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – In what has proven to be one of the best matchups in Conference Carolinas over the last couple years, the King University men's basketball team traveled to take on the University of Mount Olive on Tuesday night. Both teams proved up to the challenge, both shooting well and each having a counter punch until the Trojans closed the game on a run to take the 92-76 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Trojans jumped ahead early, and King rolled off eight straight points, capped C.J. Good's second triple of the game that pulled King within 14-13 five minutes in.
- James Scales cut the Tornado deficit to 25-22 with an old fashioned three-point play before Mount Olive went on a 12-4 run to take a 37-26 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first half.
- King again trailed by 11 before Good and Mikquell Jackson nailed back-to-back triples. Hunter LeVeau later made a jump shot to cut the King deficit to 42-40.
- The Trojans beat the first half buzzer to take a 44-40 lead at the break.
- Mount Olive was hot from three-point range early in the second half, scoring their first 21 points of the half from long distance, taking a 65-50 lead five minutes in.
- Shon'Dre Dukes got the Tornado offense going with an old fashioned three-point play before Good connected from long range and Calvin Walker made a layup, cutting the deficit to 65-58.
- Following five quick points from LeVeau, Good made a layup to pull the Tornado within 67-65 midway through the second frame.
- Walker later hit a triple from the corner, bringing King within 70-69 with nine minutes remaining.
- However, the Trojan defense clamped down, allowing the Tornado only seven points the rest of the way.
- Mount Olive went on a 17-2 run over the next seven minutes to put the game out of reach. In all the Trojans closed the game on a 22-7 run, taking the contest 92-76.
- Good led King with 31 points, going 9-for-18 from three and 11-for-22 from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds and two assists.
- LeVeau added 15 points and nine rebounds.
- In the game, King shot 48.2 percent (27-for-56) from the field and 45.5 percent (15-for-33) from three-point range.
FOR THE FOES
- Mount Olive went 32-for-66 from the floor for a 48.5 percentage while going 15-for-31 from three for a 48.4 percentage.
- The Trojans were led by Dontrell Brite who scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out seven assists.
- JaQuan Blount added 17 points, five rebounds and four assists while Jacque Brown chipped in with 11 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Good's 31 points set a career-high, bettering his previous mark of 23 which he hit three times, including twice this season.
- Good also made nine three-point baskets, a mark that his second in school history behind Brian Combs' 13 in 1990.
- The junior set a school record for three-point attempts in a game with 18.

- King returns home on Saturday when they host Belmont Abbey College at 4:00 p.m. in the Student Center Complex.
