MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The King University women's cross country team looked to continue their winning ways when they traveled to Montevallo, Ala to take part in the NCAA Southeast regional, a 6k race. In a tough field, Amelia Martin led the Tornado with a 19th place finish after posting a time of 23:27.32.
Leading the way for the Tornado was Martin with a time of 23:27.32, finishing in 19th. Coming in next for King was Hannah Sanford with a 6k time of 24:29.49, a new personal best, awarded with a 50th place finish. After Sanford, Hannah Green finished in 68th recording a 24:54.27.
Next for King was Lilly Hall recording a new personal best with a time of 24:56.95 finishing in 72nd place. Following Hall was Abbi Pierce with a 101st place finish with a 6k time of 25:49.28. Wrapping the day up for the Tornado was Maggie Edwards posting a 26:25.02, finishing in 124th.
King finished in 10th out of 26 while other Conference Carolinas opponents University of Mount Olive, Barton College, Limestone College, and Pfeiffer University finished in 17th, 19th, 20th, and 25th respectively. University of Montevallo won the race followed by the University of North Georgia and Wingate University.
King finishes their season after winning their third straight Conference Carolinas championship and making another appearance in the NCAA Southeast regional.
