GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Derek Nave was named the NCCAA Men's Track & Field Student Athlete of the Week by the national office Tuesday. This marks the second straight week Nave was honored with this award.
Nave, a senior from Elizabethton, Tenn., broke his school record in the discus at the Liberty Twilight Invitational last week with a throw of 144 feet and 9 inches. The throw was four feet longer than his record performance a week earlier. He also competed in the hammer throw and finished with a toss of 155 feet.
King will be a part of the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship that starts Thursday in Upland, Ind.
