GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College had three players placed on the 2010 NCCAA Men's Tennis All-American squad with Juan Avila, Hiroki Takagi and Patrick Jones earning the honors.
Avila (Cuernavaca, Mexico) and Takagi (Osaka, Japan) were named to the team's first team as a doubles team while Jones (Bristol, Tenn.) was a second-team singles selection.
Avila and Takagi compiled a 9-4 record as King's No. 1 doubles duo this season. Jones went 9-3 in No. 3 singles play during his freshman season at King.
A total of 12 players were first-team singles players with six more second-team selections. Nine doubles teams were recognized by the NCCAA.
The Tornado, behind an 11-6 record, were a part of the 2010 NCCAA Men's Tennis National Championship earlier in the month. The 11 wins are the most in Chris Bartlett's four year tenure as King's head coach.
