BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College opens the 2009 NCCAA Women's Soccer Mid-East Regional championship with a Friday semifinal against Campbellsville (Ky.) University in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
The King-Campbellsville contest will be played at 2 p.m. Before that host Covenant (Ga.) College plays Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) University at 11 a.m. Both winners will play in Saturday's championship game at 1 p.m.
The Lady Tornado enters the tournament with an 11-5-1 record and ranked No. 9 in the last NCCAA National Poll. The Lady Tigers of Campbellsville come to Lookout Mountain with an 11-7-2 record. Campbellsville advanced after advancing over Bluefield (Va.) College Saturday. The match ended in a 0-0 tie, but Campbellsville won the shootout 3-2.
The only team King has played at the event was Covenant and the Lady Tornado fell 2-1 in a road contest Oct. 10.
Covenant has a 6-7-3 record and Cincinnati Christian stands at 10-7-2.
