Bamberger in third after first day at Cedarville Invite

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio - King College's Josh Bamberger posted an even-par 72 in the opening round of the Cedarville Invitational Monday.

Bamberger (Waterloo, Ontario) started with a 33 before a 39 on the final nine holes. Brigham Michaud, from Cedarville, led all players with a 68. Indiana Tech's Mike Kasperski was second after a 70.

King stands in fourth after the first round, six shots behind the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Host Cedarville posted a team score of 301 which was five shots better than Indiana Tech.

Nick Carden (Hixson, Tenn.) carded an 80 to own 17th spot. Brad Weaver (Orange, Va.) and Matt Love (Johnson City, Tenn.) posted an 81 and 82, respectively.

Final round action gets underway Tuesday.
