TRAVELERS REST, S.C. - A final-round 318 matched the opening round for King College at the 2010 Cherokee Valley Invitational and the Tornado held onto fourth, just two shots out of third place as the event wrapped up Tuesday.
Josh Bamberger (Waterloo, Ontario) led the Tornado's final-day charge with a 74 thanks to an even-par 36 on the final nine holes. Brad Weaver (Orange, Va.) went three-under on the back nine to post a 75. His two-day total of 152 was seventh best and two shots out of a tie for fourth. Bamberger was eighth after a two-day score of 153.
Tommy Ricker (Parrottsville, Tenn.) improved five shots from Monday's round with a 77 and Matt Love (Johnson City, Tenn.) carded a 92.
The Tornado finished the event with a two-day total of 636, two shots behind Mars Hill (N.C.) College. Host North Greenville (S.C.) University won the event thanks to a total of 580. Limestone (S.C.) College was second at 620. Brevard (N.C.) College finished fifth at 640.
King closes out the 2009-10 season April 19-20 at the Cedarville University Invitational in Beavercreek, Ohio.
