King fourth after 18 holes at Cherokee Invite

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. - King College landed in fourth after the opening round of the Cherokee Valley Invitational hosted by North Greenville (S.C.) University Monday.

The Tornado posted a 318 in the first 18 holes. North Greenville owns the lead at the midpoint of the event thanks to a 290.

Brad Weaver (Orange, Va.) led King with a 77 as he followed a 41 up with an even-par 36 in the final nine holes. Josh Bamberger (Waterloo, Ontario) posted a 79. Matt Love (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Tommy Ricker (Parottsville, Tenn.) carded rounds of 80 and 82, respectively.

Final-round action starts at 10 a.m. at the Cherokee Valley Golf Club. The course played as a Par-72 at 6,612 yards.
