Better final round for Lady Tornado golfers

ROME, Ga. - King College improved on the scoreboard in Tuesday's final round of the 2010 Berry College Women's Invitational, however the Lady Tornado remained 14th.

The Lady Tornado posted a score of 372 Tuesday, 27 shots better than the opening round Monday.

Karissa King (Rockwood, Tenn.) and Heather Payne (Maryville, Tenn.) both fired rounds of 87 Tuesday. King was seven shots better and Payne improved by 16 shots. Manda Minor (Bluff City, Tenn.) added an 89, five shots lower than Monday's 18 holes. Malorie McBride (Brentwood, Tenn.) rounded out the team scoring with a 109.

The Lady Tornado finished 13 shots behind Millikan (Ill.) University, 769-756. Shorter (Ga.) College won the team title thanks to a two-day total of 634. Maegan Rice, from the University of Mobile (Ala.), held onto the individual lead with her 74 Tuesday. Rice had a two-round total of 147 and won by five shots.
