ROME, Ga. - King College was 14th after the opening round of the 2010 Berry (Ga.) College Women's Invitational Monday at the Coosa Country Club.
The Lady Tornado posted a team score of 397 in the opening 18 holds as Karissa King (Rockwood, Tenn.) and Manda Minor (Bluff City, Tenn.) both fired rounds of 94. Heather Payne (Maryville, Tenn.) and Malorie McBride (Brentwood, Tenn.) provided scores of 103 and 106, respectively.
Shorter (Ga.) College fired a 318 to take the team lead, two shots in front of the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Maegan Rice, from the University of Mobile (Ala.), took the individual lead with a 73.
The event concludes after Tuesday's final round.
