WINONA LAKE, Ind. - King College suffered a 64-61 loss Saturday in the fifth-place game of the 2010 NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball National Tournament to Bluefield (Va.) College in a rematch of the Mid-East Region Championship game.
King saw the 2009-10 season end at 18-13 and in sixth at the national event. Bluefield was 24-10 on the season. The Lady Tornado won the Mid-East Region title at Bluefield last Saturday 72-70.
Allison Bosse (Farragut, Tenn.) scored a career-high 21 points in the game. She also collected a game-high seven rebounds. Bosse was 8-for-13 from the field with five free throws.
Ashley Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) chipped in 17 points and six rebounds.
Megan Randall paced Bluefield with 16 points. Bluefield used 26 bench points in the game while King just had five.
Both teams made 22 field goals, but Bluefield hit four more three pointers while King had one more free throw.
The Lady Tornado grabbed more rebounds, 32-26.
