BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College was unable to overcome an early deficit in a 19-10 setback Wednesday against Milligan (Tenn.) College.

After the game, the Tornado went to 7-6 and the Buffaloes have a 9-6 mark.

Milligan posted five first inning runs to gain control early. Included in the frame was a two run home run by Brett Maddox.

The Tornado cut into the deficit when Ryan Kennedy (Elizabethton, Tenn.) scored on a Milligan error in the first. Kennedy led things off with a double off the left field fence. He later powered a home run out to left center to score three runs in the final inning. Kennedy went on with a career-high four RBIs as he was 3-for-6.

Danny Williamson (Middleburg, Fla.) delivered with his fourth home run of the season in the third with two outs and two Tornado runners on. Justin Reising (Jonesborough, Tenn.) and Joe Craven (Franklin, Tenn.) were on thanks to back-to-back singles. Williamson later tripled to lead off the fifth and then scored via a passed ball.

Craven finished the game 3-for-4 with a walk and run scored. Williamson was 2-for-5, with a pair of runs scored and three RBIs. Reising also had two hits and Shane Palmer (Sevierville, Tenn.) was 2-for-4.

The Buffs answered with a Ricky Morgan solo homer in the second inning. He hit another solo shot to lead off the fifth inning. Morgan was 3-for-5 with four runs scored.

Kendal Williams came home on a wild pitch in the fourth for another Milligan run. Eric Oxley had a RBI single in the same inning. The Buffaloes added four more later in the inning. The six runs in an inning are the most given up by King this season.

Brett Maddox and Dustin Ford both had 4-for-6 games. Ford scored three times and Maddox drove in three.

A pair of close plays at first that resulted ground outs with runners in scoring position led to two Tornado runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The visitors tacked on four more in the eighth inning including three on a Randy Rabon homer.

The Tornado loaded the bases in the eighth, but was unable to push any runs across.

Wesley Houser (Knoxville, Tenn.) tossed the opening four innings for the Tornado. He allowed 12 runs, seven earned, on 13 hits. Houser struck out one and issued two walks.

Mike Gallo earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

Milligan's 19 runs and 21 hits were the most allowed in a single game this season.

King travels for a pair of games at the University of Tennessee-Martin this weekend. The first game on Friday has a 5 p.m. start with a 2 p.m. contest Saturday.
