Tornado wrestlers pick up victories at Newberry Open

NEWBERRY, S.C. - King College had a group of men's wrestlers at Sunday's Newberry Open hosted by Newberry (S.C.) College and a pair of Tornado grapplers went 2-2 at the event.

Josh Richardson (Elizabethton, Tenn.) was 2-2 in the 165-pound class. He dropped the opening match, then won two straight by decisions, 8-3 and 7-4. He was knocked out by Newberry's Dustin Harvey 11-0.

Kwinten Brown (Alexandria, Va.) followed the same route in the same weight class, losing the first contest. He then had an 8-4 victory and a pinfall victory. He was eliminated after a 9-4 defeat.

Jacob Holley (Louisville, Tenn.) and Alex Holley (Louisville, Tenn.) both went 1-2 with Jacob in the 133 bracket and Alex wrestling as a 141 pounder.

Next for the squad will be the University Nationals on April 6 in Akron, Ohio.
