GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Ashley Deans has a pair of Top-10 NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball stat rankings in the latest report released this week by the organization.
Deans, a junior from Greeneville, Tenn., ranks eighth in scoring nationally at 17.7 points per game and her 83.6 percent from the free-throw line also ranks eighth. Both are the second best marks in the Mid-East region as well. She also has the 25th-best field goal percentage nationally at 48.0.
Beth Raby (Farragut, Tenn.) and Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) both had a pair of national rankings.
In all, King has eight team rankings in the Top-25 nationally with five in the Top-20.
Individual rankings totaled seven nationally and 11 regionally.
King hosts Virginia Intermont College Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. meeting inside the Student Center as the game will feature a Solid Blue promotion. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game as King looks to complete the season sweep over the cross-town foe. The Lady Tornado won the first meeting 78-46 on Jan. 2. King will try to win seven straight against Virginia Intermont Saturday.
