BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College recently added Emilii Russell to the women's wrestling squad for the 2010-11 season.
Russell, a two-sport standout from Hendersonville, Tenn., wrestled at Hendersonville High School. She was the 2009 TSSAA Girls Wrestling State Champion and a two time USGWA Tennessee State Champion. Russell finished third at the USGWA National Championship and fourth at the USAW Folkstyle Nationals.
She was also a part of the soccer program at Hendersonville.
"Emilii is one of the top recruits coming out of Tennessee, and we are fortunate to have her next season," King head coach Jason Moorman said. "She will add depth to the 67-kilogram weigh class, and will make a run for All-American next year."
King finished 10th at the WCWA Nationals last weekend with three Lady Tornado wrestlers earning All-American status.
