GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College saw a new individual NCCAA Division I Men's Basketball ranking added to the individual stat report within the Mid-East region, the organization announced earlier in the week. The Tornado held onto all 13 team rankings as well.
Elisha Murray (Ft. Myers, Fla.) added his 50.0 field-goal percentage into the regional ranking at No. 9. Of the 13 Top-10 region rankings, eight are in the Top-5 including the tops in three-point percentage by Stephen Kite (Atlanta, Ga.) and free-throw percentage from Craig McCargo (South Boston, Va.). Kite has a 50.0 three-point percentage which also ranks third in the NCCAA Division I report while McCargo's perfect 100.0 free-throw percentage tops the national report.
Nine individual rankings are in the Top-25 as Kite had three with two for McCargo and two for Brian Hewitt (Lexington, Ky.).
King was No. 4 in the NCCAA Burbridge Power Rating released Tuesday. The Tornado's wins over Appalachian State (N.C.) University and Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College this week were not reflected in the ratings.
The Tornado hosts Virginia Intermont College Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. contest inside the Student Center as the game will feature a Solid Blue promotion. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game as King looks to complete the season sweep over the cross-town foe. King won the first meeting 81-39 on Jan. 2.
