TIGERVILLE, S.C. - King College started the 2010 baseball season Thursday at North Greenville (S.C.) University and the Tornado suffered a pair of losses, 10-3 and 9-6, in the doubleheader.
King, at 0-2 will return to the field Wednesday with a game at Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College. It was the season opener for North Greenville as well.
Danny Williamson (Knoxville, Tenn.) provided a solo home run in the first game. Brandon Reed (Seymour, Tenn.) had a pair of hits in game number one.
King opened the second contest with five runs in the opening inning. However, North Greenville scored three in the bottom half of the inning. After the Tornado's scoring spurt, the bats were held hitless until the seventh inning.
C.J. Stabler (Kingsport, Tenn.) had a solo blast in the finale Thursday. Ryan Kennedy (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and John Jordan (Bristol, Tenn.) provided multi-hit games in the second contest.
