MARS HILL, N.C. - King College lost in men's and women's swimming action Saturday at Mars Hill (N.C.) College. The Lady Tornado were defeated 143-97 while the Tornado were overtaken 132-74.

Among the 28 events, King won eight with the men earning four victories and the women matching that mark.

Michele Donihe (Chattanooga, Tenn.) won the 200 and 500 yards freestyle races.

Emily Vaughan (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Wayne Oliver (Bristol, Tenn.) were winners in the 50 freestyle. Oliver also won the 100 butterfly.

Marcy Hullander (Bristol, Tenn.) swam to the front in the 100 breaststroke and Stephen Howard (Bristol, Tenn.) was the fastest in the 100 backstroke.

The Tornado won the 400 freestyle relay thanks to a school-record time of three minutes and 25.66 seconds.

King has one more regular-season meet and that will be on Feb. 6 at Union (Ky.) College. After that will be the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship Feb. 19-20.
