Lady Tornado Soccer receive NCCAA honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College had a trio of players on both the NCCAA Women's Soccer All Mid-East region team and three players on the NCCAA Scholar Athlete squad, the organization recently announced.

Pua Coffman (Knoxville, Tenn.) was a member of both the all-region and scholar athlete team. The senior midfielder provided six assists with six goals in 2009. She had a pair of game winning goals and was a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks.

Emma Wells (Boone, N.C.) played her way onto the all-region team thanks to a team-high 12 goals this season. She also had six assists with three game-winning goals.

Maggie Lynskey (Chattanooga, Tenn.) provided three goals in her junior season from the defensive unit en route to the all region honor. One of her scores proved to be a game winner as well.

Jena Rickard (Bristol, Tenn.) and Chelsea Flowers (Forest, Va.) were also selected to the NCCAA Scholar-Athlete team with Coffman.

King finished the 2009 season with an 11-6-1 record and reached the NCCAA Mid-East region semifinals.
