Miller had a solid start to the outdoor season, setting a King NCAA-era school record with a hammer throw of 49.98 meters to finish second at the Susan Rouse Invitational. The previous record was 46.61 meters. He was the top NCAA Division II finisher in the event. Miller also finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 40.03 meters.
