In hte season-opener, Kuljak posted three top-five finishes at the King Invitational. He placed fourth in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.51, took fifth in the 100 yard backstroke and placed third in the 100 yard freestyle. He was also a member of two relay teams that had top-five finishes.
