BRISTOL, Tenn. – For their performances last weekend at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic, Jordan Noe and Maegan Henry were named Conference Carolinas athletes of the week. Noe was the men’s track player of the week, and Henry was the women’s field athlete of the week.
In a field of nearly 30 runners, Noe won the 5,000-meter run at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic. His time of 15:18.43 was more than 1.5 seconds faster than the second place finisher. The Morristown, Tenn., native also set a personal record in the event by nearly 10 seconds.
Henry, a native of Bluefield, Va., scored 17 of King's 33 points at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic. She placed second in the shot put with a season-best distance of 12.54 meters. She also placed fifth in the javelin (30.37 meters); seventh in the discus (33.65 meters) and ninth in the hammer throw at 35.85 meters.
The Tornado will be in action again this weekend at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. Competition will start on Friday night and conclude on Saturday.
