Avila, Ragan named King Athletes of the Year
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University athletic department held their annual Student-Athlete Awards Banquet on Tuesday night where they honored all 25 intercollegiate teams and announced their Male and Female Athletes of the Year. Women’s wrestler Alli Ragan was named King’s Female Athlete of the Year, and men’s tennis player Rodrigo Avila was named Male Athlete of the Year.
Avila has led the men’s tennis team to a 13-7 record this season, and they have won their last nine matches as they head into the Conference Carolinas Tournament this weekend. Ragan was one of four women’s wrestlers that claimed a WCWA national title this year, her second straight while leading the Tornado to their first WCWA national title, and first NWCA National Duals title. The Tornado also honored all of the seniors that are graduating in May.
