BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at King College has named Jordan Noe (Men’s Track and Field) and Fallon Thomas (Softball) as Student-Athletes of the Month for March after impressive efforts in their respective sports over the last month.
Jordan Noe, a native of Morristown, Tenn., highlighted at the 49er Charlotte Classic in the 2,000-meter steeplechase competition. His finish time of 6:08.37 qualified him to compete at the U.S. Junior National Championship while also setting a new King College record and personal record in the event. He shattered the qualifying mark by more than 17 seconds and finished second overall in the event. He was named the Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Week on March 21 for this performance, as well. At the Catamount Classic, hosted by Western Carolina, he finished sixth overall in the 1,500-meter run.
Over their last 19 games through the month of March, Thomas has helped the Lady Tornado to a 15-5 overall record and an impressive 12-4 home record. Six of her seven home runs this season have come during this time and she has racked up a team-high 26 RBI. The sophomore backstop has hit at a .419 clip and has team-bests in slugging percentage (.806) and on-base percentage (.493). Twelve of her 26 hits have been for extra bases. Her top performance came in a doubleheader against Concord University where the Bristol, Va., native went a combined 6-for-6 with a pair of doubles, a home run and six ribbies. She also posted her first career grand slam against Pfeiffer on March 26 in a 4-0 win over the Falcons.
